We are delighted to welcome the American University of Ras Al Khaimah as an institutional sponsor of the Dewan Award for Architecture in association with the Tamayouz Excellence Awards. Thanks to this partnership students at the university’s School of Engineering – Department of Architecture can enter the 2023 Dewan Award for Architecture.

“We are honored to be associated with the Tamayouz Excellence Award as it fosters talents and breeds innovation across the region, giving architectural students worldwide recognition and displaying their passion, giving them a futuristic perspective,” said Dr. Liudmila Cazacova, Chair of the Department of Architecture at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah.

“The American University of Ras Al Khaimah is an honored institution, and we are excited for them to partner with the Dewan Award for Architecture and Tamayouz Excellence Awards,” said Mohamed Al Assam, chairman and founder of Dewan Architects + Engineers, and founder of the Dewan Award for Architecture. “We have always enjoyed close relationships with schools and universities so we can inspire the next generation of architects to have fulfilling careers and hopefully take architecture to new heights.

“We look forward to the talented architecture students at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah entering our next awards.”

The 2022 awards challenged people to design a Baghdad rehabilitation center for terrorism victims, with submissions received from 34 countries. The top three entries will be revealed at an awards ceremony in January in Muscat, with the winner receiving a six-months paid internship at Dewan or a cash-prize.

The Dewan Award for Architecture was established in 2018 to provide a gateway for architects globally to propose designs to help solve social issues in Iraq.
