A PERSONAL VISION

When I started my career by joining engineering companies after my graduation in 1992, I realized the importance of team work and good management in the work field. Gradually, I became more involved in many projects. This enriched my experiential knowledge, and enhanced my skills in project management and contracts formulation.

I believe that constructing positive and professional relationships with clients is crucial for achieving fruitful negotiations, and fulfilling the clients’ requirements. Additionally, successful project management is to be achieved through solid technical and financial studies, good project time control, integrated designs and effective supervision.

After I joined DEWAN in 2009 as the office manager in Baghdad, Iraq, my colleagues and I were managing some of the most important planning and architectural projects in Iraq. This reflects the global reputation of DEWAN. These projects included urban planning, mixed-use buildings, hotels and educational institutes.

Proudly, we were able to earn the opportunity of conducting the urban design projects of the most important heritage cities in Iraq -which are the old cities of Kadhimiya, Najaf and Karbala- and the design project of Samarra University (2,582,500 sq), that can be described as a combination of master planning and architecture.

One experience of particular importance to me is having founded, along with Mr. Mohammed Al Assam and other consultants, a non-profit organization in Iraq under the name of “Makiya Foundation”. Amongst its many goals, “Makiya Foundation” aims to provide advisory support to all parties involved in the development of Baghdad, elevate Baghdad’s cultural scene and protect its architectural heritage and the products of the pioneer architects.
